Rain Barrels-Cistern

I have 3 rain barrels, one is the regular 55 gallon, the 500Gals and the big one is the 1500 Gallons rain barrels cistern. It sure saves lots of money on the water utility bill.

A rain barrel is a container that is used to collect and store rainwater from the roof of a building. The water can then be used for irrigation, watering plants, and other outdoor purposes. Rain barrels are a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to conserve water, as they can help to reduce the amount of water that is drawn from municipal sources. They are also an effective way to reduce the amount of stormwater runoff that can cause erosion and pollution in natural waterways. Rain barrels are typically made of plastic or metal and are available in a range of sizes and styles to suit different needs and preferences. They are typically installed under the downspout of a gutter system, and may be equipped with a spigot or hose connection for easy access to the stored water.

A cistern is a water storage tank that is used to collect and store rainwater or other types of water. Cisterns can be made of a variety of materials, including concrete, fiberglass, and plastic, and are available in a range of sizes to suit different needs and applications. They are often used to provide a source of water for irrigation, washing, and other outdoor purposes in areas where a reliable supply of water is not available. Cisterns can also be used to store water for emergency situations, such as natural disasters or power outages. In some cases, cisterns are used to store water for non-potable purposes, such as flushing toilets or watering plants. Cisterns may be above ground or underground, and may be equipped with pumps, filters, and other features to ensure that the stored water is of good quality.
